Cultural Appropriation in K-Pop Posters

Designed a poster campaign for the K-pop label SM Entertainment that aims to take accountability for their artist’s past cultural appropriation actions. This project is a copywriting-focused assignment, focusing on finding a cause that we are passionate about and how developing one good strategy could translate to multiple campaign executions.

Indigenous Harm Reduction Poster

This poster was part of a group project where we were to assist the Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction in bringing awareness to their services to a wider audience. We identified that their reach was stunted by their use of online marketing through their website and social media, as many Indigenous peoples do not have regular access to the internet. To combat this issue we concluded that the best way to reach their audience was through out-of-home by going back to traditional advertising. This design was designed to be multiuse in different forms from posters, transit ads, flyers, newspaper ads etc.

Workplace Bullying Magazine Spread

This magazine spread was a group project. We were assigned to create a quick design that started from a small idea written on a napkin which revolved around bringing awareness to different types of overlooked bullying in Canada. The goal of this project was to teach us how a small idea can evolve into creative design. My role on the team was to create the design. This design combined both traditional techniques with graphic design by adding handwritten elements that were scanned and applied to the digital design.

OCAD Spaces Campagin

This group project was centred on research about an ongoing issue. Our issue was about the effects that an environment has on one’s academics. Our advertisement was made for OCADU’s Student Learning Centre, promoting their comfortable chairs and welcoming space. Through our research, we concluded that having a comfortable seat while doing work positively impacts one’s productivity.

Solair Magazine Spreads

These magazine ads are part of a project involving creating an imaginary eco-friendly appliance brand. This campaign focused on highlighting what Solair is and what Solair’s product does to make a positive impact on sub-Saharan African families who rely on dangerous cooking methods.
